Suitable for up to five people, this home is located on a private and quiet street. Cats are allowed too!

Canal Accommodation – Port Macquarie
This three-bedroom home is right on the Ballina Canal in Port Macquarie. It’s a great spot to stay if you have a small dog, with a side, fenced off area perfect for your pooch. It’s a short walk to shopping centres, cafes and restaurants and sleeps up to seven guests. Fish off the boat ramps or grab one of the kayaks and life jackets provided and go exploring on the water.

This refurbished retro holiday home overlooks the Clarence River and is close to town and Yamba’s beautiful beaches. The backyard is large, leafy and secure. Lay back in the hammock while your dog explores its new surrounds or pop across the road to the dog-friendly park. It sleeps up to seven people and is divided into an upstairs and downstairs unit with separate entrances.
Tooraloo Farm – Byron Bay
Every man and his dog are welcome at this unique barn house in Ewingsdale on the outskirts of Byron. Built over 100 years ago, this barn has been refurbished and filled with mod cons without sacrificing its original charm. Set on 12 acres of farmland, it’s also home to cows, chickens, dogs, cats and a Shetland pony. Your pup can join the gang! It has two bedrooms and can accommodate nine guests. Outside you’ll find a new pool, BBQ area, fire pit and incredible views over the Myocum Valley.

DOG-FRIENDLY LOCATIONS
There are many dog-friendly north coast beaches but it’s well-known that dogs aren’t allowed in National Parks. If the beach doesn’t appeal, where do you take your pooch for a run instead?
Dog Park at Henry Kendall Reserve – Laurieton
This dedicated dog park was officially opened in 2017 and agility equipment was installed a few months later. Why not take your dog for a walk and test their skills using the hurdle pole, jump hoops, slalom posts and a peaked scaling ramp? The park is fully fenced and landscaped. Locals have praised it as a safe and fun area for dogs (and their owners!) to socialise in.
Coffs Creek and Harbour Loop – Coffs Harbour
This trail winds through wetlands, beaches, reserves and residential areas on a mix of road, bike path and boardwalks. It takes riders and dog-walkers beside the Coffs Creek – an oasis in the middle of Coffs Harbour – and passes the Botanical Gardens. The whole loop can be completed in one go or broken down into smaller loops. Dogs are most welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Rocky Creek Dam – Dunoon
Just inland from Byron Bay, you’ll find a key source of drinking water for the northern rivers region – Rocky Creek Dam. The public are welcome to visit the dam and take advantage of its picnic area and playground. There are a number of bush walking tracks surrounding the dam and the rainforest reserve and as long as you have your dog on a leash, it can come along for a jaunt!
