Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar – Coffs Harbour
With the start of the 2020/2021 A-League football season just around the corner, the Newcastle Jets and the Brisbane Roar will get the opportunity to hone their match fitness on Saturday in a critical warm-up clash.
Both clubs head into the new season with hopes of finishing near the top of the table after the Roar placed fourth at the end of the 2019/2020 home and away matches and the Jets were eighth. Brisbane lost in the first week of the playoffs to Western United.
“Several million dollars’ worth of football talent will be on display when the Jets play the Roar in Coffs,” North Coast Football general manager Andrew Woodward says.
“The A-League trial reaffirms the region’s status as a destination for high-quality sport.”
Under the guidance of new coach Warren Moon, the Roar are three-time A-League champions and led in the forwards by former Socceroos goal poacher Scott McDonald.
The Jets weren’t far off a place in last season’s playoffs and will be looking to improve under guidance of coach Carl Robinson and experienced defenders Nigel Boogaard and Nikolai Topor-Stanley.
Ticket prices are from $20 for grandstand seats at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium, while general admission prices are $20 for adults, $5 for juniors and concessions, and $25 for families.
