New Year, New Ritchies IGA

Ritchies IGA Port Macquarie has brought in the new year with a new look – and locals are going bananas for it.
Healthy living, gourmet and locally-sourced are three new focuses for Ritchies IGA since their late December renovations.

Aside from their usual produce and groceries, the supermarket now has a large part of the store dedicated to health foods.

“We now have a 16-bay healthy living section and all of the products stocked there have to be approved first by a nutritionist,” store manager Kerrie Powell says.

“We also have an excellent range of vegan, gluten-free healthy options.”

The Locally-Sourced and Gourmet sections include products such as Vickers Fudge from Wauchope and Youfoodz fresh, prepared meals.

“We’ve had a great response so far; especially with the heathy living section. We’ve had lots of people come in and be surprised at the ranges we’re now carrying, most of whom previously had to purchase it online so they’re excited to be able to duck down to the local store to grab it instead,” Kerrie says.

“Some of our bestsellers have been the selection of chips from both Chipman’s and Boulder Canyon, which are all vegan, gluten-free and cooked in avocado oil.”

The heathy living focus doesn’t stop at Port Macquarie. All Ritchies IGA stores on the Mid North Coast including Nambucca, Coffs Harbour, Harrington and Taree will also carry the lines.
