Saturday 27th July – Gloucester Aero Club Fly In
Everyone is welcome to this annual flying event. Come by land or air at the Gloucester airfield off Jacks Road. You’ll see general aviation aircraft plus fun flying machines from Recreational Aviation Australia (formerly known as the Australian Ultralight Federation). Pilots and passengers can camp onsite with transport available into town to enjoy meals and beverages. There’s a barbecue and bonfire on the Saturday night with breakfast at the club on Sunday morning.
Saturday 27th July – Mental As Anything!
Forty two years ago, an urban myth began about a group of art students who pulled off the ultimate party prank – convincing the local publican they were a well-rehearsed band and striking a deal that night of a gig in exchange for free beer. The grand plan worked better than they could have imagined and so began the illustrious career of Mental As Anything. Over two decades later, they’re still recording and touring with no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July – From Hidden Valleys – Film Premiere
‘From Hidden Valleys’ – a short nature film with soundtrack by local composer, Jonathan Billingham taking in the sights and sounds of the majestic Manning Valley. Featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Liszt & Rachmaninov for Violin, Cello, Clarinet & Piano, experience a bird’s-eye view, journeying over Barrington Tops and Lansdowne Escarpment, through rugged gullies, past forests and flood plains all the way to the open sea.

Sunday 28th July – Australian Fleetwood Mac – Running in the Shadows
The Running In The Shadows show covers the best of Fleetwood Mac’s career. From the early hits from the music of Peter Green, through to the Rumours album era, spanning up to Tango In The Night and even some of Stevie Nicks solo material, there is something for every Fleetwood Mac fan to enjoy. Audience members who have seen The Australian Fleetwood Mac show in the past have found it hard to believe they were not experiencing the real deal on stage.
Sunday 28th July – The Artists Market
The Artist Market is staged on the fourth Sunday of each month in the grounds of The Maritime Museum, Port Macquarie. It is an eclectic market bringing together a vibrant and colourful collection of works by local artisans and artists. It will showcase their talents and will be supported by stalls featuring locally grown, made or baked, farm fresh produce and fine food products.
Saturday 3rd August – Chat with Elder Rhonda Radley about local Gathang language
Immerse yourself in local Aboriginal Gathang language with Birpai Elder Rhonda Radley in a series of allocated sessions in the Gallery space. Rhonda will lead you through a sound and pictorial method known as ASLA – Accelerated Second Language Acquisition techniques. Rhonda is an Aboriginal woman with strong family and cultural ties to the Gathang Birpai and Dhanggati Language Nations. As a member of the Gathang Language Group and a Language activist she advocates for Aboriginal Languages to be taught, integrated and spoken.
Macleay Valley Region
Friday 12th July – Spirit of the Macleay Dragon Boat Regatta
It’s all happening on the weekend of 27-28 July 2019 on the Macleay River, where our Club will host a spectacular Christmas in July themed Dragon Boat Regatta. We are very excited this year to be expanding our Spirit of the Macleay Regatta over two days.
Saturday’s events will include a tough 2km race schedule. On Sunday we will be including community and corporate teams in the racing line up, alongside some seriously competitive sport club racing in 200m sprints.
Saturday 3rd – Friday 30th August – Sculpture in the Gaol
A posse of sculptures have once again escaped from Trial Bay Gaol. According to sources, the sculptures each made off with a word from the Escapee Trail motto and are currently holed up in businesses around South West Rocks.
Coffs Coast Region
Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th July – Garden Design FREE! Sustainable Living Workshop
This workshop will assist participants design and redesign their gardens to accommodate varieties of vegetable, fruit, flower plants and trees and maximise their home production with suitable location, wind protection, shade and sun for a functional and spatial garden. The Coffs Regional Community Garden is a community based project with a philosophy to grow healthy food and community. Located on Combine Street (west of the Pacific Highway) Coffs Harbour.
Thursday 8th August – Coffs Coast LEGO League
Coffs Coast LEGO League is a LEGO club for children aged 9 years and older that meet at the Coffs Harbour Library every fortnight on Friday afternoons at 3.30pm. Learn about robotics, use LEGOtechnics and try to solve problems from the 2018 LEGO league competition. See if you can think outside the square, work as a team and help find solutions. Younger siblings and children under 9 years old are welcome to come along and play with LEGO too.
Thursday 8th August – Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour
Featuring a unique selection of films of varying lengths and styles, covering topics relevant to women in the outdoors the Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour will enthral both the avid adventurer and the armchair adventurer alike.
Clarence Valley Region
Sunday 8th July – Glenreagh Timber Festival
Woodchop will again be a feature of the Glenreagh Timber Festival. The other popular events – sheepdog trial demos, blacksmithing, post splitting, sleeper cutting and timber crafting will again be included. The huge market stall gathering will hold interests for the whole family. Food and drink outlets will be available around the ground, and lots of entertainment for adults and children.
Thursday 1st August – Artifishal & Saving Martha Screening
Artifishal is a film about people, rivers, and the fight for the future of wild fish and the environment that supports them. It explores wild salmon’s slide toward extinction, threats posed by fish hatcheries and fish farms, and our continued loss of faith in nature.
Friday 2nd August – Winter White Party
Join us for the biggest event of the year… Our Winter White Party! We are holding this big Party to generate much needed funds to support all of the free workshops we put on for the girls each year. Come along, bring a friend and spread the word!
