The region has experienced numerous extreme weather events in the past three years, including multiple flooding events and catastrophically low levels of air quality. While this has resulted in loss of property, power, road access and life, the community has worked together to distribute food, assist with transport and help with clean up.

The development of a climate change adaptation action plan is scheduled for Saturday, 12 March 2022. Its success relies entirely on the community’s input, experience and needs. The planning day is free to attend, includes lunch and refreshments. It will be facilitated by the Centre for Ecological Learning in Port Macquarie.
