Pink Silks Race Day – Coffs Harbour
It’s the big day that gets the Coffs Coast social year off to a colourful start. Thousands dressed in predominantly pink turn out each year for one of the region’s biggest annual days of thoroughbred racing action. Pink Silks Race Day has been running since 2007 and over that time has raised more than $1 million to help local women who are challenged by cancer or other illnesses. The trust that organises the race day and other events throughout the year has put that money towards much needed local equipment and services, as well as contributing to national research foundations.
Pink dresses, suits, ties and hats in every shade are regular features of the popular event, with the Fashions on the Field competition always keenly contested. This year could also see additions such as pink face masks as the meeting fits in with COVID safety guidelines which include the need to remain seated while in the Merv Mercer Lounge at the Coffs Harbour Racing Club.
And if you want to make a big day of the planned seven-race meeting that includes the Pink Silks Cup and celebrate the new year, the racing club has a great Coffs Harbour Pink Silks Luncheon food and beverage package on offer, which includes:
Four-hour drinks package including standard tab beer, wine, sparkling and soft drink (1pm-5pm).
Gourmet lunch of prime scotch fillet, balsamic field mushroom, crispy chats, buttered greens and desert.
General Admission guests will be given access to the Merv Mercer Lounge and trackside.
