Australia’s Mid North Coast
On the North coast of New South Wales, halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, lies one of the most beautiful and picturesque Australian regions. The Mid North Coast occupies approximately 400 km of coastline and it offers some of the best opportunities for diving, snorkelling, hiking, as well as watching whales and dolphins.
From south to north, the main cities on the Mid North Coast are:
- The twin cities of Forster and Tuncurry
- Port Macquarie
- South West Rocks
- Nambucca Heads and
- Coffs Harbor
The beautiful city of Coffs is a popular holiday destination with a relaxed atmosphere. It is located on the Pacific Highway and is the only place in Australia where the Great Dividing Range meets the Pacific Ocean.
Coffs Harbor is primarily known for its beautiful coastline where lots of surfing and regional surfing competitions take place. Additionally, here you will find the Solitary Islands Marine Park where you can dive and snorkel. And if you are a fan of hiking, you just have to visit the beautiful Dorrigo National Park, famous for its hiking trails.
The seaside city of Port Macquarie is known not only for its golden beaches; its stunning forests and mountains invite you to take long hikes and walks. In fact, Port Macquarie is considered a haven for sport enthusiasts and adventurers. Here you can parachute, paraglide and water ski.
