Port Macquarie’s ‘Dark Alley Sessions’ Bring Music to Your Ears

Are you struggling to remain patient as you wait for the Mid North Coast’s live music scene to return to “normal”? The Dark Alley Sessions have stepped in to fill the gaping hole left by COVID-19 restrictions. Recorded in Port Macquarie, the virtual live music performances showcase talented musicians from all over Australia.

Dark Alley Collectables is a vibing little record store tucked away on William Street. Once the doors close for the day it becomes a nostalgic backdrop for performances by talented bands and singer/songwriters. With support from the Port Macquarie Hastings Council, the mini-sets are recorded and edited then made available for free on YouTube.

The latest episode features Port Macquarie based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer mikk. She performs two originals and a cover of Bon Iver’s ‘Heavenly Father’. Her original ‘Company’ recently had air time on the national youth broadcaster, triple j. Keep an eye out for mikk’s six track EP, due to be released in the coming months.

mikk grew up in Sydney but now calls the Mid North Coast home. She has built a cosy home studio and has started to write and record with other local musicians.

Dark Alley Sessions will be recorded and shared regularly so keep an eye on the YouTube channel and Instagram for future announcements!
