Ezra wheels in his driving beats–Bellingen
It’s time to slick back your hair, turn up your collar and get your feet moving to the classic sounds of The Ezra Lee Show. Australia’s wild man of boogie-woogie rock ’n’ roll has been destroying the piano for the excitement of his fans for almost a decade now and is recognised worldwide as one of the best young greasers keeping the flame of the ’50s alive.
Lee will be playing the Bellingen Brewery Co. on Friday as he tours his latest album, Cryin’ at The Wheel. Born in Tamworth and now based in Melbourne, the piano maestro has created a reputation for exciting shows, with festival performances at Bluesfest, Tamworth Country Music Festival and Blues on Broadbeach winning him plenty of fans. His career highlights include opening for Jerry Lee Lewis in Las Vegas, playing the Sydney Opera house alongside Aussie luminaries James Blundell, Nick Barker, Dave Larkin and Doug Parkinson, and opening for rock ’n’ roll pioneer Wanda Jackson on her last Australian tour. At 14, Ezra joined the legendary Australian pub band Johnny Green’s Blues Cowboys and toured with the band for six years.
