UMBL Music are celebrating the beginning of summer and fun times with Summer Dreams Festival – a 2 day festival of local musical goodness with workshops, stalls for the whole family at the Bellingen Showgrounds on December 10th and 11th. This is a great opportunity for everyone to finally get together and really feel like a community again through dance and music.

First Nations artists feature strongly at Summer Dreams, with great Gumbaynggirr rock band Jumbaal Dreamin’ ; a new group by Kauri Munro-Greentree called Little Big Tree ; fresh Coffs duo Deadlie Flowers and RedBelly (DJ) dropping beats rounded off with Miklo Jarret’s Gunganbuwala Singers. Joining them are roots maestros Joe Newton and Peter Hunt (KOOIE), as well as local songstress Hannah Harlen, powerhouse drummers and crowd favs Samba Soul and Drumfire and funkster party acts Funkatu and Joelism. Don’t miss genre bending YT Dingo featuring the legendary dancer Travers Ross, with more artist announcements to follow in the coming weeks.
UMBL is proud to introduce a workshop series with something for everyone! Workshops are spread over the two days and include singing workshops with Peter Hunt, percussive guitar with Kauri Munro-Greentree and African drumming with Kaya Boom. Workshop spaces are very limited with classes ranging from 10 spots for the percussive guitar 15 spots in the sinigng classes to 40 in the drumming class. Summer Dreams Festival Ticket prices are a humble $50 for the full Festival pass or $30 conc.with kids under 10 free. You can purchase a one day only festival ticket for $30 and $20 conc. and of course book your workshop places for $25 each.
